ABSTRACT
Most individuals who are exposed to an alphabetic orthography not only learn how to read, but the ability soon becomes one of the most complex and highly developed skills they possess. While there are some clear exceptions to this generalization, reading certainly must be one of the most commonly acquired of all human skills.
