ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the theoretical framework of the book given in the integrative Rational Model of Mediation (RMM). The model is rational in that is assumes that all actors, disputants and mediators alike, are rational actors. It is integrative in that it intersects the perspectives of the rivals and third parties.
