ABSTRACT

I titled this piece partly after the exercises, stretches, and postures designed to help people achieve more flexibility at one of the bodily sites where biology may seem like skeletal destiny, but maybe not totally. You can swish, switch, or swivel as if you were born that way, whether you cultivate the moves or have tendencies that betray you. Then again, you can be disciplined or doomed to be stiff as they come. Or so it seems.
