ABSTRACT
This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book provides the guidance, insight, and understanding of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). It includes interviews conducted with industry leaders and visionaries to get their perspective on how they approach reliability, which operators are developing the newest systems, and how they believe the UAS market will develop. The book also includes interviews from those responsible for operations and management in order to show how those responsible for safety and acquiring flight data integrate their daily lessons learned from operators at their facility, in the hopes the reader will better understand how to do the same. It presents interviews with association leaders and community leaders who understand the plight of small, medium, and large UAS operators in order to outline the most important discussions shaping the future of the industry.
