ABSTRACT
Searching for a solution, I returned to the literature on expertise. Among other papers, I reviewed the original study in which Ericsson and colleagues (1993) proposed the concept of deliberate practice. In this study they examined the differences in study habits among three different groups of violinists: best performers, middle performers, and lowest performers.
