ABSTRACT
In this chapter, patterning features of intensifi ers in the learner corpora are investigated in depth in comparison with those in the native corpora. We fi rst describe the patterning features of intensifi ers that have occurred most frequently in learner English. We then summarize the distinctive characteristic features of intensifi ers in learner English. Finally, we discuss the underlying factors for those features.
