Introduction

This chapter aims to show the reader the general purposes of this book. It shortly presents the conceptual background of this extensive research on the process of diffusion of new ICT as well as putting the study into wide socio-economic context. It briefly discusses the aims and scopes of the book, and demonstrates the consecutive chapters’ content.
