Higher Education and the Western Media: Allies or Adversaries in Third World Coverage?

The Western media not only inform the West about the rest of the world. They also inform the rest of the world about the rest of the world. For example, what Africa knows about China comes disproportionately from Western sources. Chinese newspapers have no correspondents near Rwanda and Somalia and have to rely on Western information. The same is true of India’s learning about Latin America.
