ABSTRACT
The chairman of the board of the Mount Pleasant Public Library, located in Pleasantville, asked if she might propose my name for appointment as a trustee. Perhaps this was because Kay and I had gone to a village board hearing where salaries for the librarians was being discussed. We were indignant that an experienced person with an M. A. in Library Science would join the staff at a salary less than that of a beginning garbage collector! Did we make a fuss over that!
