ABSTRACT

When Chung Ju Yung decided he wanted to get in on a market, an industry, a piece of the action, any action, he jumped in all the way. There was no room for doubters, second-guessers, arguers and questioners. He had operated this way from the outset of his career, but few ventures revealed his style better than Hyundai Electronics America in the story of its rise, failure and possible resurrection. Here was the honorary chairman, the boss, at his best and his worst — in short, acting just like himself.
