ABSTRACT
The relationship between economics and the biosphere can no longer be ignored because of the current proliferation of environmental problems such as the degradation of natural resources and the emergence of global forms of pollution (depletion of the ozone layer and intensification of the greenhouse effect) (Faucheux and Noël 1990).
