ABSTRACT
In article 7 of the UN charter the Secretariat is listed as one of the principal organs of the United Nations. The secretary-general is the head of the Secretariat and the highest ranking official in the UN system. The Secretariat is the working personnel of the system, people of many nationalities and diverse skills.
