ABSTRACT

The end of the satyagraha movement marked a turning point in my life. When we came out of prison, life was no longer full of exciting events. We had all finished our education (Shyama had abandoned plans to study for her master’s degree, as I mentioned) so there was no reason to continue living in Lahore. At any rate, by this time Allahabad University had become one of the three or four finest teaching universities in the country and had thrown its doors open to women students.
