ABSTRACT
James Swanson is a well-regarded mutual fund manager at Massachusetts Financial Services, in Boston, where he is the co-portfolio manager of two closed-end high-yield funds with invested capital in excess of half a billion dollars. After receiving his B.A. degree from Colgate University in 1971 he worked at Chemical Bank for a year. He then attended the Harvard Business School, receiving an M.B.A. degree in 1974. Following graduation, he worked in the private placement department of New England Mutual Life.
