ABSTRACT
ThismonographsetsouttoanalyzetheSovietrecordinwage andincomedistributioninthe1980s,especiallyinthesecond partofthedecade.Whenstatisticalmaterialspermit,wewill includeinouranalysisdatafrompreviousdecadesinanattempt toilluminatecertainchangesthathavetakenplaceovertime. Ourmajorcontribution,however,consistsintheuseofnewstatisticalmaterialsaboutincomedistributionwhichbecameavailableunderGorbachev'spolicyofglasnost.
