ABSTRACT
Mentoring is known to influence strongly one's professional career development and upward mobility. It is a particularly important issue for those who pursue advancement into managerial careers. Being mentored means involving oneself in a relationship with the intention of being taught, guided, or coached by a higher-ranking and more influential individual in order to learn from his or her skills, knowledge, or expertise.
