ABSTRACT
Shamanism in Buryatia was examined here in light of its genetic history, subjected to comparative historical and structural-functional analysis, elaborated in a general scheme including primary stages of its evolution from the primitive condition to the modern day, and defined by its role and position in the history of the Buryat people.
