ABSTRACT

A fundamental restructuring of ownership relations is recognized by all participants and observers backing Poland’s economic transformation as one of its main, if not decisive, tasks. The rapid growth of market-oriented rents became a new barrier in many cases. It should be added that reprivatization, an especially complicated but very important problem, remained unsolved in most important areas. The focus here is on the controversial issues of large-scale privatization, i.e., those relating to large and medium-sized state enterprises within industry and related sectors. Unresolved problems also existed in the area of small-scale and “founding” privatization. Various forms of credit granted to firms, institutions, and individuals can and should become a leading tool. Credit for privatization can be unlimited, provided some requirements primarily a certain participation of the buyer’s liquid assets, are met. A specific type of commercial company is one with a built-in system of employee ownership. In its mature form, it has developed dynamically, becoming an international movement.
