ABSTRACT
Hong Kong will be returned to China in 1997. It is part of Chinese territory and more than 95 percent of its population is Chinese. Hong Kong has been a British colony for more than one hundred years due to various historical reasons. Its social system is capitalist and its education has a strong colonial color, however, this colonial color has diminished on a large scale in the past ten years.
