ABSTRACT

Sedimentation at the Three Gorges Project (TGP) has long been considered an important problem by members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party. It has also been the concern of people from all walks of life at home and abroad. Although many articles dealing with the various impacts of the TGP have been published, the discussion has not been sufficiently comprehensive and detailed. In this paper, our objective is to discuss several problems concerning sedimentation at the TGP based on the results of research conducted in the last few years. It is our hope that this discussion will contribute to the development of more detailed research on sedimentation at the TGP.
