ABSTRACT
Under the technical guidance of the Ministry of Chemical Industry, from 1959 to 1960 we started building a group of small-scale nitrogenous fertilizer factories that annually produce 800 to 2,000 tons of synthetic ammonia. By the end of 1960, we finished building and put into production more than 20 factories that annually produce 800 tons. The opposite of small-scale nitrogenous fertilizer factories are the large-scale nitrogenous fertilizer factories that annually produce 25 or 50 thousand tons of synthetic ammonia. They are mature in terms both of construction and production and of technology. There are six of these large-scale factories, located in Dalian, Nanjing, Jilin, Lanzhou, Taiyuan, and Chengdu. One way to build large-scale nitrogenous fertilizer factories which annually produce 50 thousand tons is to divide the construction into two periods, and build one plant of 25 thousand tons in each period. The other way is to build once.
