ABSTRACT

In economic construction, there was a little rashness in 1953, and there is a little rashness again this year. It is a little bit bigger than that in 1953, so the exposed problems are more obvious. As long as we take the lesson of this first half year and we are not rash any more in the future, commodities will not be in such short supply. The economic construction and people’s livelihood must both be considered and must be balanced. It seems, for quite a long period, that this kind of balance will be basically a comparatively tight balance. Though the whole system of commercial work in the past was advantageous to the struggle against private capitalism, there were still many things disadvantageous to the people. Commercial work deals with people every day, providing food, clothing, daily necessities, oil, salt, fuel and rice. Do not look down on these things; these are important matters of the people.
