ABSTRACT

Taiwan has become an economic powerhouse in East and Southeast Asia. Its growth and development over the past fifty years have been remarkable and have resulted in increased standards of living and economic resources that also drive development in other countries throughout the region. Recent political changes, demographic trends, and forces inherent to the emerging process of Greater China create new challenges and opportunities. This chapter provides a systemic overview of Taiwan, with particular emphasis on Taiwan’s notable socioeconomic evolution and detailed analysis of current marketing dynamics, with probable trends for the future.
