ABSTRACT
The previous sixteen chapters have examined recent trends in private sector unionism in the United States, the factors shaping these trends, and the fu ture growth prospects of unionism. In this final chapter, we summarize and synthesize the evidence and key points of these chapters and provide a con sensus forecast of the likely direction of private sector unionism in the early part of the twenty-first century.
