ABSTRACT
Was it Clinton fatigue or Clinton nostalgia? No matter—both factors seemed to have worked against Gore. Either Bill Clinton was too scandalridden and A1 Gore was a mere extension of his presidency or Clinton was a politician in a class of his own and Gore never reached similar expectations. Any way you put it, Gore was in trouble. To make matters worse, he waffled on his strategy dealing with this dilemma.
