ABSTRACT
The national economy is in the process of transition into a new era of development characterized by the buyer’s market and quality-driven development. In real life, there is a simultaneous growth relationship between the income level and the leading consumer products. With the rise in personal income, and propelled by the actual and potential purchasing power, new leading consumer products at a higher price will emerge. Industrial structural adjustment means the elimination of backward facilities and excess production capacity, for a balanced aggregate supply and demand, and the upgrade of structure. In terms of the adjustment of technological structure, research in the basic sciences should be stressed. We should concentrate on those domains which will be of significance to our economic development and enhance the ability to transform research findings into productivity as soon as possible.
