ABSTRACT

As explained earlier, given af = a',. and given accurate estimates by producers of consumer M, subbudgets and of consumer v; and x, neighborhoods, transactions be tween consumers and producers occur in v,x, space when bct > bf and PDC > CDC (see chapter 11). In vp, space transactions occur along the PDPL {producerdetermined price line) where PDPL ^ CDPL {consumer-determined price line; see chapter 12). We now examine consumer-producer interaction in xtXj con sumption space. In this chapter we expand interaction to include both the ith and /th commodity producers. The consumer in XjXj space continues, as before, to be a sin gle consumer. As explained earlier, our in dividual consumer is not the statistical av erage consumer, nor that cohort of consumers otherwise known as the repre sentative consumer.
