ABSTRACT

During our lifetime, the vast majority of our public speaking will be impromptu, speaking without prior preparation and practice. Whether we're presenting our opinion at a city council meeting, responding to a question at a business meeting, or giving a toast at a family gathering, our speaking will most likely be spur of the moment. These impromptu speeches will usually be about one minute in length, so our effort and focus must be extremely specific. A longer response is desired, or our public speaking instructor wants to develop our speaking skills, the Standard Impromptu Speech can be very helpful. When we speak in front of an audience, let them sense our love for the topic, our love for the audience, and our love for ourself. This may be our most important message in our journey to become a speaker for a lifetime.
