ABSTRACT
Melvin’s informative speech on illiteracy was very effective (see Chapter 15). Afterward, several students asked Melvin for more information on how they could help. He was more than happy to provide them with the information because after the process of researching and writing his speech, Melvin had become motivated to volunteer at the local high school literacy program. The program is in dire need of more people to help teach adults in the community to read.
