The Benefit of Challenging Uncertain Laws

In this article Ronald Dworkin explores the implications of his view of law and adjudication for the question of civil disobedience and conscientious objection to the draft for the Vietnam War. He argues that civil disobedience may play an important and valuable role in a constitutional system, namely of providing an opportunity to challenge laws whose constitutional validity is uncertain.
