ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses how to plan the research report and the main components of a research report. It then indicates that campaigns may be able to influence voter's level of mis-information about candidates issue positions. Planning a research report should begin at the earliest stages of the research process. The introduction to a research report should state clearly the theme or purpose of the research, the principal hypotheses, and the rationale underlying both conducting the research and writing the report. The literature review in a research report is closely linked to, and builds upon, the introduction. A review of the relevant literature should cite and describe the research and the theories of those who have worked on related problems in the past. The presentation of findings may include tables, graphs, or charts that help to summarize the results of the work, together with statistical or other analyses that prove germane.
