ABSTRACT

Our planet's natural environment encompasses all naturally occurring living and non-living things. This environment includes the interaction of all living species, climate, weather, and natural resources that affect human survival and economic activity. The changes to the natural environment that humans can cause vary from hardly any impact to a 100% change. Transport in general, does of course have a significant impact. Global warming is the observed long term rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system, and its related effects. Many different strands of scientific research and evidence show that the climate system is warming. Future climate change and associated impacts will differ from region to region around the globe. Anticipated effects include increasing global temperatures, rising sea levels, changing precipitation, and expansion of deserts in the subtropics. Most countries are parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), whose objective is to prevent dangerous anthropogenic climate change.
