ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the neurobiological correlates of some common mental health conditions: schizophrenia, bipolar, borderline, narcissism, OCD, addictions, eating disorders and attention deficit disorders. Causal and predisposing factors for poor mental health are discussed, along with sleep, insomnia, good mental health, and the nature of healing in therapy. Mental health correlates with emotional health, which comes with healthy relationships. Everything about it points to the importance of secure attachment from the beginning of life as the basis for the developing nervous system, particularly the right brain-body ensemble
