ABSTRACT

Most movies include a love story. It may be the central story or a subplot, but knowing how to write a believable relationship is essential to any writer's skill set. In some decades, Hollywood seems to have lost its knack for writing love stories. Good actors know that romantic chemistry is not created in the casting room. It is created by writers. This book is organized in four sections: The Meet, The Crack, Why You? and The Obstacle. Whether it's a star-crossed meeting of soul mates or a head-on collision of absolute opposites, how the lovers-to-be meet each other matters. The meeting will set up genre, tone, and why one should root for these two to unite. It may even include the essential Obstacle to their union or the Crack in their shells that allows them to fall for each other. The book explores the different types of cracks and how to use them to create believable and engaging relationships.
