ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses the international thought of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It presents and discusses his political language as regards international relations and diplomacy, delineating his general principles of foreign policy and his views on the major courses underlying Iran’s foreign affairs. In terms of methodology and scope, the article advances interdisciplinary research between International Relations (IR) and Islamic Studies, with the aim to develop and sustain inter-cultural knowledge that addresses the theories and practices of the Islamic civilization and of Muslim societies as regards international affairs and the discipline of IR.
