ABSTRACT

The business, economic, and financial services community is taking sustainable development seriously. Some companies are implementing sustainability policies due to legislation, while other companies view sustainability as critical for risk management and long-term viability. Professionals involved in marketing, sales, business consulting, economic analysis, and financial services fall under the umbrella of the business and finance sector. The goal of this chapter is to explore the sustainability considerations for tasks tied directly to financing, improving the bottom line, and distributing monetary resources. This chapter will cover sustainability from various business perspectives-corporate sustainability policy, consumer demand for sustainable products, public relations and communications, sustainability reporting, and sustainability algorithms in financial services. The stories of professionals working in public relations, financial analysis, and sustainability reporting are shared.
