ABSTRACT

This chapter begins with an overview of queer theory, after which it outlines the potential contributions of queer theory to Translation Studies in helping the field move definitively beyond binary models of communication and exchange. The chapter looks in particular at works by queer scholars Gloria Anzadulua, Lee Edelman, and Annemarie Jagose to discuss their potential to queer key concepts in the field of Translation Studies, such as code, equivalence, and exchange.
