ABSTRACT

The first Dual International Programme started in 2009 with Abertay University Dundee, Scotland. It was initiated by Management in Commerce and was exclusively reserved for those students. The United States was discussed when setting up target countries for the Dual International Programmes given its prominence in the retail sector and range of successful companies. The benefit for the partner companies of Dual International Programmes is not only the ability to gain insight into the potential of future employees it is also an opportunity to 'sell themselves' to graduates. The partner companies can also benefit from the knowledge gained by the students in the framework of Dual International Programmes. The home university, in this case the DHBW Karlsruhe, is able to increase its attractiveness to students, companies and teaching staff through the range of Dual International Programmes it offers. Dual International Programmes can thus become a clear demarcation from other universities.
