ABSTRACT

People all over the world suffer from poverty, climate changes and war. From the 1960s, Moroccan men left France to work in the Dutch mines, where working conditions were better. In France, workers did not want dirty, poorly paid jobs; but in the Netherlands, Dutch workers were more assertive and demanded more pay and better conditions. The incidence of psychosis among Moroccan inhabitants of the Netherlands is four to eight times higher than among originally Dutch or Turkish inhabitants, and among inhabitants of Morocco itself. The chapter addresses the form of a multi-family group (MFG) project, specifically for Moroccan people. Most importantly, the emancipation of Moroccan people in the Netherlands makes progress, with Moroccan role models such as the Moroccan mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb, and the chair of parliament, Khadija Arib, both of whom are respected by all political groups.
