ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this chapter is to present a comprehensive overview of empirical findings regarding ICT diffusion in 36 Asian countries over the period of 1980-2015. It shows major ICT diffusion trends and demonstrates the main features of the technological substitution process. It also provides insight into seminal factors that accelerate – or, conversely, hinder – rapid ICT diffusion in developing economies.
