ABSTRACT
In the context of national wealth, nature is considered capital, but it can also pose a severe threat through the risk of natural disasters. Agriculture is one of the sectors most heavily impacted by a natural disaster. This chapter presents an example of agricultural recovery from a massive natural disaster, a volcanic eruption that occurred 25 years ago, focusing on how public investment and subsidies were utilized by farmers.
