ABSTRACT
People need people, but some of our relationships mean more to us than others do. Most people prefer spending their free time with family than with strangers. Few politicians or corporate executive officers (CEOs) leave office in order to spend more time with people they’ve never met. It’s in our nature to favor our family. And the more dire the situation, the stronger our pro-family preference.
