ABSTRACT

At the core of the missions of most performing arts centers (PACs) are the performances that appear on their stages and related artistic and community activities. While the public may not always know by what means the shows appear-nor is it always important that they do-the approaches taken are of vital importance to the PAC managements, their organizational structures, and their finances. This chapter explores the programming options available to PAC managers, and the rationale for and implications of each of these options.
