ABSTRACT
Analytical Psychology and Jung’s career started with the application of the association experiment, by which Jung invented the concept of the unconscious complex. This chapter gives an overview of the research with the association experiment and the concept of complexes from Jung’s time to the recent day. Also there is a summary of initial findings from a recent study applying the association experiment for diagnostic use in clinical practice and the additional value the association experiment gives to the assessment of psychological disorders.
