ABSTRACT

Strategy Two embraces the establishment of routines and schedules to build a classroom community. This classroom community supports the creativity and innovation promoted in an authentic project approach. Break down teachers project into smaller pieces to help them manage their daily routines and schedule. Authentic work still relies on the use of routines and scaffolding. It utilizes your ability to mentor your kids through the learning experience. The classroom management tools you currently use directly fit into the overall and daily life of the challenge. These routines are an excellent way to help build academic language and implement the types of thinking that align with where teacher's learners are within a project. The science standards on light and sound and literacy standards on reading informational text were the foundation for this project challenge and it was one that learners knew could easily pique their learners' interests.
