ABSTRACT
Public domain refers to content for which the copyright has expired or the copyright holder has indicated the work is in the public domain or copyright is inapplicable. Such work is freely available for public use or there is an applicable common-use license.3 Historical examples of public domain works include William Shakespeare’s plays and poems and Leonardo da Vinci’s painting, the Mona Lisa.4 The significance of the public domain nature of old time radio is hard to overstate, in that it means this extraordinary body of cultural work is largely freely available to anyone anywhere in the world with Internet access.
