ABSTRACT

The contrary secret hidden in all research and design—and design as research—is that design doesn’t actually solve problems; rather, it raises new ones and exposes previously hidden ones. The good news is that we designers and researchers will never run out of things to do; the bad news is, well, we will never run out of things to do. So it is with this project, which is coming to an end not because I feel as if I have uttered the last word on the subject but because I realize there is no last word. Moreover, perfection is the enemy of the done.
