ABSTRACT
We return in this chapter to the question of semantic categories. As we said earlier, it is part of the business of a theory of word meaning to try to provide a list of the semantically significant groupings of words in a language, and also, if possible, to spell out what their characteristic properties are, and how they interact with each other, if they do.
