ABSTRACT

In a state of fusion, it is almost as if the mind is an Encyclopedia Britannica, which an elementary school student automatically assumes contains accurate, factual information, given that the material is in printed form. Similar to opening an encyclopedia, almost robotically trusting the words on the page are objective and true, fusion involves trusting the mind’s ability to generate language to make sense of both the inner (e.g., thoughts, feelings, sensations) and outer (e.g., relationships, events) world.
