Orthography and Phonetics

WithJoshua A. Sabih

The orthography and phonetics of the five manuscripts (A, B, C, D, E) represent two different writing systems on the basis of the two different scripts used in them. The first three (A, B, C) are written in Arahic script, whereas the latter two are written in the Hebrew script. Even within each group one finds different orthographic habits. The primary focus of this analysis will be mainly on the manuscripts in Arabic script. Attention, however, will be paid to the second group, D and E, when there is a need to do so.
